Avonlea is turning one! I can’t believe my sweet, sweet baby girl is already a year old. I wanted to share with y’all some of the awesome things I found to celebrate my dumpling baby.  Most of everything is from Amazon!

The Photo Shoot and Decorations

For Avonlea’s cake smash session, I knew that I wanted a super frilly dress and found a great option for under $15 with Prime shipping on Amazon! The sizing was true to size. The lining was soft. I washed it in with the rest of her clothes after the photo shoot and it held up great!

For decorations, I found this great package deal with the crown, cake topper, banners, and pinwheels for under $19. Everything coordinated perfectly. It was awesome to not have to hunt around for different items to complete the look. You can see the pinwheels from the decoration set in the background of the photo below.

Amazon also suggested a $13 high chair tutu, but we didn’t get that because I didn’t think we’d need it.

Rufflebutts.com Outfits

For the carousel pictures, I found a fun, colorful tutu outfit from Rufflebutts.com. If you haven’t heard of Rufflebutts yet, I’m so sorry, because it’ll be your new obsession and your wallet will hate me. The outfits are really affordable, but you’ll want to buy them all! HURRY to get this outfit! It’s on sale now for only $10! And if you sign up with my invitation, you’ll get $10 off your first order of $35! I will say, I’ve found their sizes run a little small, so I always size up for my chunker.

I also got her sweet flower hair bow from Rufflebutts. And a custom onesie for her to wear on her birthday to school. I love that Rufflebutts has the option to add a name or a monogram to most of their pieces for only around $10!

Birthday Dinner Outfit

Avonlea’s birthday is in the middle of the week this year, so we won’t celebrate with all of the family until the weekend. Instead of throwing a big party, we’re going out to dinner with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop and her aunt and uncle. I found this great little outfit on Amazon for $13! I love that it’s fun and trendy and subtlely birthday-themed so she’ll be able to get more wear out of it.

Birthday Presents

We have been trying really hard for the past year to think about the number of toys we’re buying though. My house only has so much room! We’ve been asking the family to buy experiences (memberships, movie passes, etc.) instead of stuff. We have plans to go to the Camden Adventure Aquarium as a family outing – review to come! But… it’s not a birthday without at least a few presents!

Avonlea’s big present for is this super fun Step 2 Toddler Corner Playhouse. At $100, I still feel like it’s a great deal because it will grow with her and be something she’ll be able to play with for at least 2 years or more. It’s super interactive and has enough to engage her AND let her 6-year-old brother play with her. The best part? NO NOISE. We have more than enough noisy toys, this one doesn’t make any sounds at all!

Avonlea loves her real doggie and kitties, so I thought this would be a hit. It’s also nice and portable for her to take to Mom-Mom’s when she goes to visit. It’s on sale at Amazon now for $16!

And, it’s not an occasion without a new book. The sweet, simple message of this one really spoke to me – it’s everything I want to tell my darling girl, that she can be and do anything. Full disclosure – I haven’t been able to read it without choking up yet.

And that’s the rundown of our celebrations! What’s your favorite way to celebrate a little’s first birthday? Thanks so much for reading! Let’s stay in touch… you can put your email in the box below and get notified whenever I post new content!
